Arriving by Public Transit

Please note that the Niagara Central Airport is not serviced directly by public transit. The following information regarding timetables, carriers, and fares is applicable ONLY for public transport into the Welland Bus Terminal, located approximately 10 minutes from our location. Taxis and Uber can then be used to transfer from Welland to our Dropzone.

Megabus

Megabus offers a direct connection from Downtown Toronto (610 Bay Street) and the Welland Terminal (160 East Main Street). Roundtrip fares are typically at or under $40.00.

Journey time from Downtown Toronto to the Welland Terminal ranges from 1hr 55min to 2hr 30min. The return leg, Welland Terminal to Downtown Toronto, ranges from 2hr 15min to 2hr 55min.

Not all Megabus departures service the Welland Terminal. Scheduling information presented here is strictly between Toronto and Welland.

Megabus also services St. Catharines and Niagara Falls.

If you are taking Megabus to either St. Catharines or Niagara Falls, you will require a transfer on Niagara Region Transit (Line 70 from St. Catharines or Line 60/60A from Niagara Falls) to connect to the Welland Terminal. There are many more departures from Downtown Toronto to both St. Catharines and Niagara Falls, so depending on your schedule, you may elect to take one of these buses, and transfer to Niagara Region Transit. More information about Niagara Region Transit is provided below.

GO Transit - Metrolinx

GO Transit and Metrolinx offer several travel options, both by bus and rail. All GO Transit and Metrolinx connections are between Union Station (Toronto) and Niagara Falls Station (Niagara Falls, Canada). The approximate journey time is 2hrs.

If you plan on taking GO Transit, you will require a transfer on Niagara Region Transit to connect to the Welland Terminal (Line 70 from St. Catharines or Line 60/60A from Niagara Falls). Please note that daily rail departures are limited.

GO Transit - Metrolinx

VIA Rail Canada

VIA Rail Canada, Canada's national rail operator, runs one train daily in each direction between Toronto Union Station, and Niagara Falls, ON. This train calls at St. Catharines as well, and since this stop is closest to our location, we recommend disembarking at St. Catharines Station.

The train bound FOR St. Catharines (Train #97-64), leaves Toronto at 08:10 daily, arriving in St. Catharines at 09:54.
The train leaving FROM St. Catharines (Train #63-98), returning to Toronto, leaves at 18:08 daily, arriving in Toronto at 19:41.

If you plan on taking VIA Rail Canada, you will require a transfer on Niagara Region Transit to connect to the Welland Terminal (Line 70). Please note that there is only ONE rail departure, per direction, daily.

VIA RAil Canada

Niagara Region Transit

Niagara Region Transit is the regional bus operator for the Niagara Region, connecting the cities of St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, and Welland. There are many departures in each direction daily between all three cities.

If you will be connecting from St. Catharines, into Welland, you will need to take LINE 70. Journey time is approximately 50 minutes. The return leg is LINE 75.
If you will be connecting from Niagara Falls into Welland, you will need to take LINE 60 or 60A (Express). Journey time is approximately 50 minutes. The return leg is LINE 65 or 65A (Express). The Express service is only available Monday to Friday.

All journeys on Niagara Region Transit are a flat fare of $6.00. Fares are paid upon embarkation.

Please note that Niagara Region Transit DOES NOT operate on Sundays, or on Canadian statutory holidays.

Connections from the United States - Greyhound

For those arriving from the United States / Niagara Falls NY region, Greyhound offers an international connection between Buffalo, NY and Niagara Falls, Canada. The approximate journey time is 1hr 30min. Please account for customs and immigration processing time. You will require a passport, enhanced drivers licence (EDL), or NEXUS card in order to enter Canada. Greyhound fares are between US$14-26 one way.

There are multiple departures daily. There is limited weekend service.

If you plan on taking Greyhound from the United States, you will require a transfer on Niagara Region Transit (Line 60 or 60A) in Niagara Falls, Canada to connect to the Welland Terminal.

Connections from the United States - Amtrak

Amtrak, the long-distance passenger rail operator in the United States, runs one train daily in each direction across the Canada - United States border. This train, the "Maple Leaf," originates at New York Penn Station, and terminates at Toronto Union Station, calling at St. Catharines Station, the closest train station to our location. Journey time aboard the Maple Leaf will vary, depending on where in the United States you board the train. Please account for customs and immigration processing time. You will require a passport, enhanced drivers licence (EDL), or NEXUS card in order to enter Canada.

Trains depart daily from New York Penn Station at 07:15, arriving at St. Catharines Station at 18:08.
Trains returning to the United States, bound for New York Penn Station, leave St. Catharines Station daily at 09:54.

The Maple Leaf calls at many stations within the United States. Principal boarding points include Albany, Utica, Syracuse, Rochester, Buffalo, and Niagara Falls NY. Consult the Amtrak timetable for a full list of boarding points, as well as departure times for intermediate stops, for the Maple Leaf.

If you plan on taking the Amtrak Maple Leaf, you will require a transfer on Niagara Region Transit to connect to the Welland Terminal (Line 70). Please note that there is only ONE rail departure, per direction, daily.

Taxis and Ride Share

Within the Niagara Region, there are several taxi companies to choose from. Please contact your chosen taxi company to inquire about standard and flat rate fares between set destinations.

If you use Uber, you will be pleased to learn that most of the Niagara Region falls within the Uber Service Area! Simply download the Uber app to your smartphone, and when requesting a ride, input "Niagara Central Airport" to ensure you're taken to the right spot.
