If you have any additional questions or concerns that we did not answer here, we encourage you to give us a call, or send us an email. Our knowledgeable staff would be more than happy to field all questions for you.
Niagara Skydive Centre is Ontario’s Tandem Specialist. We are a full-time skydive centre operating 7 days a week, with professional instructors on duty every day. Our facilities include a 16,000 sq. ft. indoor hanger and packing area, as well as two fully paved runways, which allow us to operate our aircraft when our competitors cannot, usually due to soft grass fields. Our jumpers are all Canadian Sport Parachute Association (CSPA) and/or United States Parachute Association (USPA) certified for added piece of mind. We are also the only skydive centre in Ontario that includes an aerial tour of Niagara Falls on all jump flights to altitude! At around 6,000 feet, we are directly over Niagara Falls, and you get to witness a view of the Falls that very few people get to see! If you purchase a photo/video package, your photographer will get footage of the Falls from the aircraft as well. Circle Niagara Falls on all flights to altitude (weather permitting).
We are a full-time dropzone, and are open 7 days a week May through October, including weekends and holidays. Our first time slots are at 9:00am daily, and we take reservations for every hour on the hour until 6:00pm during the summer months. During the autumn, we take reservations every hour on the hour until it gets dark. The time will vary depending on the time of year.
Making a reservation is very easy! Just give us a call at 1-866-564-5867, and we’d be happy to assist you. What we require at the time of booking is the number of people who will be jumping, the day and time of the jump, as well as a Visa or MasterCard number to keep on file. We do not require any deposits, or require advance payment. However, we do require the credit card in the event of a cancellation of less than 48 hours notice, or a no show. In those cases, we will charge your credit card $50 per-person.
We strongly recommend that you call ahead and make a reservation for your intended date/time. Although walk-ins are welcome, you may have a long wait if you show up on a busy afternoon. Making a reservation books you a specific time slot, meaning that (barring unforeseen circumstances or weather delays) you will be able to jump.
Life sometimes forces us all to change our plans, and we entirely understand if you need to change or cancel your appointment. You are permitted to reschedule, or cancel, your appointment at any time, so long as you give us at least 48 hours notice. If you cancel with less than 48 hours notice, or simply do not show up for your appointment, there is a $50 per-person cancellation fee.
The earlier you know, the earlier you can call. We take reservations far in advance of intended dates, and the sooner you book with us, the better your chances are at getting the date/time that works best for you.
We accept Cash, Interac (debit), Visa, and MasterCard for payment. No deposits are required when making a reservation, and you will pay for your jump upon arrival at our drop zone.
Of course, the more the merrier! Groups of all sizes are welcome at our dropzone, and we offer preferential skydive rates for groups of more 5 people or more. We also offer incentives for group organisers. Give us a call to find out more!
For groups of 5-9 people, we offer a discount of $10 off per-person. Groups of 10 or more people get a discount of $20 off per-person. These discounts are applicable to both the tandem, and solo skydive options. Organisers of Tandem and PFF skydive groups with at least 5 people jumping will also receive a complimentary video of their skydive, which is a $95 value.
They definitely can! We can issue gift certificates for tandem, or solo skydives, skydives including photo and/or video packages, or for a specific dollar amount. Gift certificates can be sent via post, or emailed to you as a PDF document.
Absolutely, you can bring as many people to watch as you want! We have plenty of indoor and outdoor space for spectators to relax and watch, as well as picnic space too.
Yes, unless the weather gets in the way. All of our flights to jump altitude fly directly over Niagara Falls at around 6,000 feet. The only time we would not make the flight over the falls is if clouds were in the way, forcing us to change our flight path.
Yes, all skydive students must be at least 18 years old on the day that they would like to jump. Unfortunately, a parent cannot give their consent for a minor to jump. That being said, there is no maximum age limit, and those who are still young at heart can absolutely jump! We even offer discounts for seniors who would like to go skydiving.
There are a few, but they’re very straightforward. What we need our skydive students to be able to do is “arch,” which does require a certain degree of stretching. We also need students to be able to lift their legs up, as if they were sitting in a chair. If you can do both, you’re physically ready to skydive!
The answer to this question varies, depending on what kind of skydive you are making with us:
For the Tandem Skydive, your ground training will focus on three key positions: the exit from the aircraft, freefall, and landing. You will practice how to position yourself in the aircraft, how to properly arch while in freefall, as well as when and how to lift your legs for landing. Your tandem instructor will first demonstrate these positions, and then rehearse them with you.
For the Solo Skydive, your ground training consists of a 5 hour ground school course. Our First Jump Course will teach you the technical characteristics of ram-air parachutes, how to fly and land a parachute, the technique for exiting the aircraft, as well as emergency procedures.
For the First PFF Skydive, your training consists of everything mentioned for the Solo Skydive, plus an additional hour of ground coaching with your PFF instructors. Following the First Jump Course, you will practice the freefall arch, as well as go over how to deploy your own parachute, as well as how to complete your practice pulls while in freefall.
This is entirely up to you! We want you to be comfortable for your skydive experience, both on the ground and in the air. You are permitted to wear whatever clothing you would like, based on the weather and your own taste. Generally, we recommend that you dress in layers so that you’re comfortable with the jumpsuit that we will give you, especially since it’s considerably cooler at jump altitude versus the temperature on the ground. The only dress requirement is that you wear running shoes or sneakers. You cannot wear sandals or flip-flops.
Yes, we will give you goggles that go overtop your glasses and contacts. If you don’t need them to see for distance, we suggest that you take them off just so that nothing pinches your nose.
Absolutely. Not only is it recommended so that your training remains fresh, but we also have everything structured so that you complete your training, and jump, within the same booking. Tandem students will complete their training and jump within about 2-4 hours. Solo and PFF students usually complete their jump(s) in the same day, however, if the class runs longer than expected, or if the weather changes during the day, some students may have to return at a later date to complete their jump(s). There is no additional charge to have jumps postponed.
The answer to this question varies, depending on what kind of skydive you are making with us:
For the Tandem Skydive, the entire experience will take between 2 and 4 hours, not including any ground wait time if we are forced to delay our jumps because of the weather. This time includes your registration, ground instruction, gear-up, flight to altitude, the jump itself, and your debrief. Generally, the process goes much faster on a weekday, and you are likely to complete your skydive within just 2 hours.
For the Solo and PFF Skydive, account on being with us for the entire day. The First Jump Course begins at 9:00 am in the morning, and runs for about 5 hours. Following the completion of the course, we will have students complete their solo jumps, and PFF jumps if proceeding on in the program.
Although this is extremely unlikely, there is of course that risk. This is why we always jump with two parachutes (one main, and one reserve). If, for whatever reason, the main parachute does not open, or fails to open correctly, a reserve parachute can be deployed. We also jump with onboard computers, known as Automatic Activation Devices (AAD’s), which will automatically activate the reserve parachute at a preset altitude if your vertical speed is not slowing.
Modern parachutes fly, rather than fall, unlike conventional military parachutes. This means that your tandem master can land the parachute with a nice and gentle flare. Most landings are very smooth.
Clouds, wind, and rain all keep us on the ground. We cannot jump if the clouds are low and overcast, if the winds are gusty, or if it’s raining. Not only is it just unsafe to be jumping in those conditions, but it would also be rather unpleasant for you. We want you to fully enjoy your skydive experience, so when Mother Nature acts up, we sometimes have to sit it out.
If you’re worried about the weather, give us a call first. Often times, the weather where you are is entirely different than what we have at our dropzone. This is due to our local microclimate, thanks to our position directly between lakes Ontario and Erie.
Absolutely! Nothing boasts more bragging rights than a Facebook profile photo of you jumping out of an airplane! We have several options to choose from. You can purchase a video, or, a photo disc of around 500-700 still images for $95. If you want the complete photo/video package, the price is $120.
Both the video and photos follow the same structure. Your tandem master/photographer will capture footage of you starting as soon as you get your gear on. Then, as you walk to the aircraft, they will engage you in some playful conversation about your upcoming experience. Once in the aircraft, they will get some footage of the scenic flight to jump altitude, including the flight over Niagara Falls. Once it’s time to jump, the camera is trained on you as you excitedly exit the aircraft! Once back on the ground, your photographer will run up to you, throw you a high-five, and congratulate you on a jump well done!
You sure will! In fact, you’ll very likely get even more than that! Our cameras take two photos every one second while they’re running, and when we burn the discs, we don’t delete anything. So, while a few photos may be of your hip, or ear, you’ll get an incredible amount of money shots, capturing every second of your experience!
Sorry, but unfortunately, we cannot allow you to bring your own camera for your skydive. This is a rule enforced by the Canadian Sport Parachute Association, and is entirely for your personal safety. Unless you’re a fully-licenced skydiver, you cannot have anything attached to you. If you bring friends or family to watch, they are more than welcome to take photos from the ground.
